TITLE OF THE TOURIST PROJECT KRPANOV ROM POM POM ( The Krpan Festivity )

Summary:
Inspite of its rich, natural and cultural attractions, the Pivka commune is still not sufficiently touristically oriented. Tourism has been developing here only in recent years primarily with the opening of the Museum of Military History.
The aim of our project is a tourist offer – namely to offer salamis and sausages as well as different kinds of cheese to as many people as possible during and after a festivity. With this in mind we came up with a fun get-together called KRPANOV ROM POM POM (The Krpan Festivity) where we could have stalls with home-made salamis, sausages and different kinds of cheese, offer them to the public and carry out a competition between individual farms for the best product. The figure of Martin Krpan would appear within the framework of the entire programme. The programme would be led by the Pivka Tourist Society in collaboration with the farms that would be selling their products in the stalls. We have prepared an invitation, a poster, an announcement on the radio and a brochure of tourist attractions from our region that visitors might want to see.
Our aim is to get farms to join together, sell their products in the stalls and later on in a special shop that would be open in the center of Pivka. These products would only be ECO products from our region, such as: home-made sausages, salami, cheese, dried apple slices, honey, apple juice, etc. The strength and recognition of the products will be more visible if all the farms appear together in collaboration with the Pivka Tourist Society. In this way the expenses for advertising, announcements and so on will be divided among them. To keep tourists in our region, we suggest that a building be constructed in Pivka or in the surrounding area that would offer visitors accomodations enabling them to stay in our region for several days. At the festivity we would also be selling Krpan souvenirs and we would also invite individual people, who are engaged in the handicraft of making them.
The emphasis in our project is that of courtesy and kindness of all the tourist workers in our region and making all the residents aware that tourist activities bring income.
We have presented our tourist project on our school website. A copy can be obtained from the project mentor and another one can be found at the Pivka Commune.
