SUN / AURORA
Aurora is another celestial phenomenon closely monitored by the team. In case of major M or X class flares and full-halo CMEs, an e-mail warning of possible geomagnetic storms is issued on our mailing list.

Since the formation of the Team, several large geomagnetic storms have been observed, with the storms of April 6/7, 2000, July 15/16, 2000, October 21/22, 2001, and October 30/31, 2003 producing mid-latitude aurora.

The April storm was unfortunately missed, but we caught the July 2000 storm in spite of the worst observing conditions and the October 2001 and October 2003 storms. The November 2003 aurora was observed in clear and dark skies and was the best aurora witnessed from Slovenia so far.

To follow the current Solar, Near-Earth and Geomagnetic activity, we use MBK Team's Auroramon.
