IMPRESSION OF A GREAT CITY

Impression of a Great City is a selection of 20.000 digital photographs following the pulse of Berlin from early morning till dark night. By focusing on movement and the flow of time in urban spaces using long exposure times, repetition, pauses and tiny changes in nature are exposed. The structure of the film flirts with Walter Ruttmann's film Berlin: Symphony of a Great City from 1927. The city breathes in a similar way, but in colours, digitaly recorded and as an animated documentary.
