ELEMENTARY SCHOOL |

Our school has been founded only recently - in the year 1992 when the large Dragotin Kette school of Ilirska Bistrica was devided into two independent units. It is called after Anton Znidersic, well - known as a beekeeper, econimist and inventor. In the school year 1995/96 the construction of the school building has been rounded up which results in good working conditions, including its new dining - room, a modern library and a new nice classroom equipped with computers. The school is attended by 321 pupils in 18 classes of the regular elementary school and two combined classes of elementary school with a special, adjusted curriculum. 30 children of the temporary refugees have been included as pupils in the current programe. According to their interests pupils choose various activities, a course of English has already been organized on the lower grade level, there is a math course for different levels of the same grade, the school takes part in various projects: long - term learning of reading and writing ability, a computer project RO and another project. We are the central school in introducing computers for purposes of math courses |
