SPECIAL SOCIAL PROGRAMMES OF THE ASSOCIATION
As an organization within civil society, the Association of Paraplegics of Slovenia (beside the activities belonging to its regional branches) prepares and performs those social programmes which are not made available for invalids - paraplegics by the state agencies and public services.
The special social programmes carried out by the Association, are meant to satisfy the specific needs of individual groups; at the state level they include: welfare work, compensation for disability (intended exclusively for paraplegics who live in difficult circumstances), enabling for an active life and work, psychosocial rehabilitation, living in and adapting to the environment, sport and recreation (mostly in the sense of providing equal conditions), educational aid, health maintenance, organizing reconstructive rehabilitation, help with acquiring orthopedic aids, transportation by adapted vehicles, cultural activities and other activities to benefit their interests.
