Flinders Ranges
Flinder ranges is country with mountainous character
that starts about 300 km northern from Adelaide and stretches north into
outback. We made trip there from 11 to 15 of October.
First we had to do the plan, where to go, what to visit, where to camp.
Unusual sign for people from overseas. Nothing special for Aussies.
First we visited Aligator gorge in Mt. Remarkable national park.
All together
Narrowest part of the gorge.
Than we went to Willipena pound and climbed Mt.Ohlssen bagge. Nothing
special. About 1000m.
Great view down to Willipena pound from the top.
In the evening we headed further north to camp near Oraparinna.
Great sunset
Morning in camp.
We had company. Red back spider in toilet hut. Very poisonous. Straight
to hospital if it bites you.
Than we went into Brachina gorge. There is geological trail and plenty
of awesome views. Some creek crossings also!
In Parachilna there is well known hotel with outback food. Emus, camels,
kangaroos, goats...
There it is!
After meal we went into another gorge, this time Parachilna gorge. In
the middle of the gorge there is a trail to Blinman pools.
After two hours of walking we took a swim under the waterfall.
Camp in the evening and pasta cooking time.
Next morning we made a plan where to hike.
Over hills and dales of course. With map, compass and plenty of water.

Returning to the camp from above
