Poljska slikarka in pisateljica je študirala v Varšavi, Rimu in Genovi. Znana
je po portretih in tihožitjih. V letih 1951-54 je delovala kot scenografka v
Varšavskih gledališčih. Na znamki PL-1527
je njena slika: Štefan Žeromski
(njen oče - poljski pisatelj).

Litvanska pisateljica ni imela formalne izobrazbe, vendar prirojen dar
pisanja zgodb. Najbolj pogosto je v svojih delih opisovala življenje na
vasi. Njen jezik je živahen, slikovit, uporablja obsežen besedni zaklad. Njena
najpomembnejša dela: Marti (Snaha); Petras Kurmelis; Velnio vestuves, velnio laidotuves (Vražja
poroka, vražji pogreb); Sutkai; Gera galva
(Dobra Glava).
She was
born in Lithuania. She did not receive formal instruction. Zemaite had an
inborn talent for story-telling. She chose her subjects most often from the
life of village people. The style of her writing lively, picturesque, and
rich in vocabulary. Her best stories are: Marti (Daughter-in-Law);
Petras Kurmelis; Velnio vestuves, velnio laidotuves (The
Devil's Wedding, the Devil's Funeral); Sutkai; Gera galva
(A good Head).

Slovaška slikarka magičnega
realizma in nadrealizma je študirala na Akademiji za umetnost in
oblikovanje v Bratislavi. Mestni parki (Luksemburški vrtovi v Parizu, Retiro
park v Madridu, Kensingtonski vrtovi v Londonu, Angleški vrt v Munchnu,
Shinjuku park v Tokiu) so bili njena pogosta inspiracija. Posebno močno pa
jo je očaral Gorski park v Bratislavi, ki ji je bil njen genius loci. Na

Slovak
painter of magic realism and surrealism. She studied at the Academy of Fine
Arts and Design in Bratislava In 1956, she graduated from Summer School of Painting of the world-renowned
Oskar Kokoschka in Salzburg. She was often inspired by the setting of city
parks (Luxembourg gardens in Paris, Retiro park in Madrid, Kensington
gardens in London, English garden in Munich, Shinjuku park in Tokyo).
However, she was most intensely attracted to the Mountain park in
Bratislava, which became her “painting” genius loci. On stamp

kolesarka je na OI 2000 dobila bronasto kolajno v cestni dirki posameznic.

She is a
Lithuanian cyclist who dominated the sport in the late 1990s, and continues
to be a formidable force in road cycling to this day. She made her debut in
the women's pro cycling ranks in the mid 1990s after winning the 1994 World
Junior Road Race Championship. She rose to the top of women's cycling in
1998 when she won two World Cup races, the overall World Cup Points title,
and capped the season by winning the World Road Race Championships and
leading the UCI points list. The following year (1999), she further
demonstrated her all around prowess by winning the Grande Boucle, one of the
hardest stage races ever in women's cycle racing history. This was followed
in 2000 by a bronze medal at the Summer Olympics. For her achievements,
Žiliute was awarded the Order of Gediminas, a Lithuanian state honor.

Hčerka bolgarskega političnega
voditelja Todora Živkova, članica bolgarske komunistične partije in
članica politbiroja.
She was the
daughter of Bulgarian Communist leader Todor Zhivkov, who reached the rank
of senior Bulgarian Communist Party functionary and Politburo member. Her
life remains uniquely controversial and colourful in the history of
Communist Bulgaria and that of the Soviet Bloc.

Slovenska judoistka je na OI 2004 v kategoriji -63 kg osvojila
bronasto medaljo, na OI 2012 v Londonu pa zlato medaljo. Je prva slovenska
športnica dobitnica zlate olimpijske medalje.
She is a Slovenian
judoka. She won the bronze medal in the half-middleweight (–63 kg) division
at the 2004 Summer Olympics and gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London in
the same division. That makes her the most successful Slovenian judoka of
all time.
