Progress Report
Some milestones in the historical overview of the planning, preparation and execution of the project are presented on this page. New facts and data will be added to the history in the progress of the work.

The Slovenian Committee for Library Terminology was formally established, comprising experts from the Slovenian Academy of Science, the National and University Library, the Department for LIS studies, and the Library Association of Slovenia. The tasks of the Committee:
The basic elements of an international project - building up a modern multilingual dictionary of library terminology - were set and contacts with experts all over Europe established. There was a positive response from 19 countries.
Supporting dictionary material in German, French and Russian was prepared and sent out on demand to particular working groups.
The source material for the D - L segment consisting of 1.084 entries in English was prepared for exchange and sent out in printed and in electronic form to 6 cooperating working groups.
The translations/equivalents for the A - C segment had been prepared and returned to the project manager for further processing by 6 working groups.
A trial run was executed converting the files in Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Estonian, Icelandic and Macedonian (in Cyrillic script).
Successful negotiations resulted in the contract signed with the Open Society Fund Bosnia & Herzegovina for a donation covering the Bosnian language translation.
