I'd like to acknowledge Lesley Robertson for all the help she's provided on the CARSTAIRS and BALDIE families. I was stuck at John CARSTAIRS married Isabel BALDY in 1794, with several possibilities for each. Thanks to Lesley, I now have both lines back to the early 17th century and have found my first Internet cousins.
