Can't Undo

DV, Sašo Vrabič, Slovenj Gradec, 2001, 10'
Script & Dir: Sašo Vrabič
Camera: Sašo Vrabič
Music: Singers Unlimited

"'Can't Undo' by Sašo Vrabič portrays black and white images of close-ups of airplanes in a slow and gradual crescendo. The airplanes slowly reveal themselves as children's toys floating through the sky. The viewers are implored to question their perception and consider the manner in which they relate their vision to previous memories."

from Haunted by Detail, (cat.), De Appel Foundation, Amsterdam, p.32

Black and white video with its soft jazz vocal theme of a song "Try to remember" is like a contrast to images of flying airplanes and burning fire shown in the video. Airplanes are not the real ones but they're toys which look very realistic. The video was made for a show Discontinuity of Time - Part one: terorism and is like an illustration and association for terorist attack on New York in the year 2001. The lyrics is also straight: "..Try to remember the fire of September when life was young and o, so mellow..." Video reminds us with its picture quality and sound on the pioneer days of the television.
