Eco-School is a project within
European association and represents a composed
part of European Union's efforts for
environmental education. Supporter of the
project is Foundation for Environmental
Education (FEE), which was intentionally founded
to put emphasis on organized and planned
environmental education and awareness.
FEE is comprised of four projects: Eco-Schools, Blue Flag, Young Report and Eco-Forest. In Slovenia there are two projects in progress: Eco-Schools and Blue Flag.
At the moment, there is a project named „ Eco-School as a way of life“ within the society DOVES (Society for Environmental Education of Slovenia) in progress.
Eco-School offers many practical solutions and encouragements for realisation of environmental awareness. Eco-school:

reduces the amount of rubbish and waste

sub-divides the rubbish

encourages energy-saving activities

is concerned about environmental awareness of surrounding

is united with other Slovenian and European schools, cherishes healthy mutual relationships and relationships towards the planet Earth
Eco-school enriches emotional connection between the child and the nature. It teaches him/her to respect differences and appreciate natural resources. Eco-School offers pupils and teachers the opportunity to use the knowledge, acquired at school, in every day life inside and outside of school. To achieve the aims of environmental education Eco-School chooses interesting methods and helps pupils to bring into use the knowledge, acquired at school, in every-day life.
