ENAMELS COLLECTION – WESTEN EMO
Enamels Factory was founded in Gaberje, Celje in 1894 by Adolf Westen.
At first they produced only enamel-plated, zinc-plated and lacquered dishes,
but in 1933 they started producing steel radiators. In 1945 the company
came under the state ownership and they continued their tradition under
the trademark EMO. The trademark and logo that Westen chose was the lion’s
motive, which was internationally registered in 1928 and kept as such even
after the war.
The lion's share in the collection is enamel kitchenware – pots, pans,
frying pans, bowls, plates, sieves, measure cups, jugs, kettles, tea pots,
etc. Approximately one third of all the objects dates back to the
period before the II World War, and the rest are from the post-war period. |
