THE FINISH ARENA OF SKI CENTER KOPE ON THE POHORJE MOUNTAIN
The Kope skiing resort on the western side of the Pohorje ridge has been built in the Western Pohorje Park area and in the protected area of Velike and Male Kope (1524 - 1542 metres above sea level), famous for its botanic richness. The Pohorje is a geographically completed and ecological natural system of particular landscape value. The homes of the people living in this area are in the form of individual and independent farms, with stock breeding and forestry as their main economic activities.
The Kope skiing resort development plan consists of the mordernisation of the technical elements of the Kaštivnik skiing area, such as a new chair lift, an artificial snow system and a water resevoir area. The paper presents the study of the Partizanka skiing post gravitating to the northern part of the Pohorje and to the Drava Valley, and describes a possible Partizanka new arrangement. The idea of the arrangement of the Partizanka chair lift post is that of a finish line area. The study of the characteristics of the traditional architecture in the North-East Pohorje area serves as the starting point for the area development project focusing on the skiing area supplied by a hotel and a bungalow village.
