FOR VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE TOMORROW - FIBRE-CEMENT ROOFING MATERIAL

We preserve a century old visual image of roofs the way we have announced: with the introduction of the new environment friendly fibre-cement roofing and facade slates and tiles. Our guidance and aim for the introduction of new technology, formats and application techniques were to find the right solutions for replacing old and traditional elements and to preserve the identity of rural nucleus and landscape.
In architectural defined regions profession must have the first word, the investors must understand it, and the producers must follow it. Only this way we can preserve the vernacular architecture with new materials for further generations.
A good example how to preserve rich building heritage is a typical house of the mountain region of Bovec and Trenta, where the architects and designers had very well accepted the fibre-cement slates as replacement of old cement cone-shaped tiles and other roofing material in the post-earthquake restoration. Not only the roofs on renovated and new structures are well incorporated into the natural mountain environment, it is beautyfull, too. This type of roofing material is appropriate for the application on roofs of ethnographic »monuments« such as rustic houses and other farm buildings which make up country estates (stable, barn, »kozolec« - hay-rack, drying house, well, hay shed, pen, granary ...), mountain cottages, structures in the areas of protected national parks, ... High quality and visual effective roofs, covered with fibre-cement slates with its elaborated details give to the architects a wide range of possibilities for designing new buildings and settlements, too.
