TYPICAL TRADITION IN THE SLOVENE PRIMORJE OPUS OF ARCHITECT EDO MIHEVC
Investigating traditional elements in modern architecture is more complicated than is usually thought, especially because the presence of such elements cannot be observed immediately. New architecture must be appropriately evaluated, aiming at the interpretation of the elements originating from traditional rural architecture characterised by authentic, local or regional, anonymous constructions. Such investigations could form the basis for the development of architecture which would function as a model of a more conscientious tectonic composition and would not follow all the modern trends.
The paper illustrates the influence of the tradition with two projects carried out by the architect Edo Mihevc in his large Primorsko opus. Both the projects were carried out in the period characterised by politically controlled projects, i.e. in the period when present values had not been established yet.
