ORDER IN TRADITION, advantages and wrong ways
Traces of yesterday's architecture: old architecture does not only represent old and outdated solutions. It also transfers experiences and all the good surviving elements - the elements therefore are good - to the present moment, though not without constraints, analysis and consideration.
Tradition in architecture: distinctiveness, identity are the elements marking a certain era, direction, nation, architecture. They grant uniqueness and the typical form, which distinguishes them from others.
Architecture nowadays has options too numerous to have only a single direction of development. It is all about a quest with a number of diversions. The latter are unfortunately recognizable only from the distance in place and time.
Architecture tomorrow represents a question to which the wise today cannot find an answer. We only have to believe that we cannot build by demolition and diversity. By upgrading what yesterday seemed good we can today perfect, develop, extend. And if tomorrow we will only have progressed a step forward: we can expect no more.
