Letter 2/3 - My home and my school

Dear Niklas, 

I have just received your letter. Thank you very much. I have got a pet cat, called Juni. Now I’ll tell you about my home and the neighbourhood in which I live.

I live in a flat in a block of flats. There are eight rooms. In my block are nine flats. I’m going to describe our living room. It’s big and there are armchairs, chairs, one small table and one big table. In this room my family watch TV. I like it because I can eat and watch TV. I’m going to describe my room. I share it with my brother. It’s small but I think it’s great. There is my desk. On it I do my homework. My brother has computer on his desk and when I often play computer games. There are two beds. One is my and one is brother’s. There is a wardrobe. On the walls we have posters, pictures and shelves. My neighbours are quiet and very friendly. Have you got a girlfriend? Do you like school? Have you got pets?

Now I’ll tell you everything about my school.

In my school there are 600 pupils. I have 11 subjects. On Monday I’m at school from 8.00 to 12.25. On Tuesday from 8.00 to 13.15. On Wednesday from 8.00 to 13.45. On Thursday from 8.00 to 13.40. On Friday from 8.00 to 12.25.
My 3 favourite subjects are history, geography, biology, because they are very interesting. I don't like art, Slovene. My favourite teacher is Majda Sturm-biology. I like her because she's funny and strict, but she teaches well. Samuel Brajnik is my coach at handball and our gym teacher. He is a good coach. I like sport days, projects, breaks and school friends. We have too many lessons a day. 
I am in class 7 and there are 27 students. We are sometimes noisy but we are also good friends. There are 14 boys and 13 girls. Our class teacher is our Slovene teacher. She is strict. 
My three best friends are: Jaka, Matej and Nejc. We also train handball together. We invite each other to the birthday parties. 
Other students at our school are OK, sometimes noisy at break time, but they like to help, they are friendly. 
We don't have many events, but if they are, they are interesting. For Christmas our chorus sings Christmas carols, sometimes writers visit us. Three times a year we have excursions to important places in Slovenia. We have skiing days and open door activities. 
I will always remember the opening of new part of the school and when I hurt my finger.
I am a good student and I have marks from 3 to 5, five is the best. I don't know what I will do after this school. What about you? I'd like to become a coach.
I like music, I learn to play the guitar. My favourite groups are Garbage, AAF. Do you like music? Do you have school dances? What is your favourite sport? What kind of marks do you use in your country? We have marks from 1-5.
