Pinguicula alpina

Form with mixed coloured leaves

Form with all purple leaves

'Deep Purple'

We have at least three different (eco)tipes of this species: with pure green, intermediate and (extreme rare)purple leaves as the most recognizable distinctive mark. It is common plant, growing from high altitude (2500 m) to probably world's lowest altitude at near 200 m above sea level.

The plant grows on different substrats, from very rich with organic compounds to entirely rock, from constantly wet to completly dry places.
