At their most northern point, the winegrowing Haloze are enclosed by
river Drava, flowing from Ptuj through Markovci, and numerous meanders
towards Ormož. Here where the best wine in Haloze is grown, Haloze start
to run down towards the Croatian Zagorje. Slovene people blend here with
the Croatian. Her are the nine settlements of commune Zavrč.
In the north it is embraced by the river Drava, in the east and south it
borders on Croatia, in the west it borders on the parish of St. Barbara
in Haloze Cirkulane, with the castle Borl.
Looking south from the highest point of the parish, at church of Devica
Marija (Virgin Mary), one can see the hills landscape with forests.
But looking from the 362 m high hill, from the church of St. Mohor,
towards north, all one can see are attentively cultivated vineyards.
