Alenka Adamic, the director of MIRK, Institute for project and research activities on the Internet, works and lives in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenija.

As a teacher of sports at Secondary school she joined an on-line project for the first time in 1992 and since than she has been active in different Internet international and national projects, such as: Teleolympics, KIDLINK and I*EARN project.
Between 1995 and 1999 she worked at the Open Society Institute - Slovenia as the coordinator for different programs and projects. Since 1995 she coordinates the workshops and projects for teachers on national level, co-organizes conferences and since 1996 she cooperates with the Ministry of Education and National Education Institute of Slovenia in the distance on-line teaching program for Elementary and Secondary schools.

Between May 19 and 22, 2005 MIRK Institute organized together with Ministry of Education and Sports and with other insitutions the tenth International Conference MIRK'05 in Slovenia.
