Hammer, Horse and Water

Kladivo, konj & voda (Hammer, Horse & Water) appeared in Slovenia in late 70's as representative of at the time strong acoustic popular music. Poetry of Dani Bedrac, guitarist, was the basic origin of their music act. He not only wrote the lyrics which was at the time published in Slovenian literature magasines, he also composed most of the music. Lyrics had a significant verse and rich symbolism. Their songs dealt with individual and society in a postmodernistic way. When it comes to music, influence of English folk music is obvious but not prevailing. The band was also taking from Slovenian music tradition interlacing it to elements of Pop and Rock.
Important part was taken by Damjana Golavsek who was the vocal solo singer of the band. Her colorful voice, exact pitch and later perfectioning brought her to today's role of leading female music interpreter in Slovenia.
