THE TECHNOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL REFURBISHMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL PURPOUSES OF THE BUILDING HERITAGE AND THE ADAPTATION TO THE NEW STANDARDS: THE TRENTINO REGION CASE STUDY
In the design process, aimed at the reclamation of the buildings, deep changes are very often due to the application of specific regulations which requires the adaptation to new living standards; these changes affect the building from both the formal and the building standpoint. In specific areas where there is a particular attention to the environmental safeguard, irreversible changes of the original building type are often due to the present regulation, regarding procedures, fire fighting safety, accessibility, inner comfort, system integration and structural safety. A first step to safeguard the building tradition is to check out the building regulation that can deeply influence the transformation of the buildings themselves. The Laboratory of Building Design, at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Trento, is carrying on a research concerned with the analysis of the present building regulation of the Trentino region.
