The Czech philosofer, Jan Amos Komensky or Comenius, as he is
often called, was a modern man in his time. Of course, a bit too
modern for the 17th century and that is why he was often discriminated
and lived in died in exile. He wanted to make education possible
for everyone not just the elit and he wanted to improve society
and put an end to war through dialogue between nations. Today
we strive to make this come true.
The main objective
of our Comenius project EUROFOLK that we began three years ago
with partner schools from Poland, Malta, Italy, Spain and Slovenia
was to get a closer look at less known cultures and languages
and to look at discrimination face to face and try to do away
with it. We realize that we are all different and that the only
way to live together in a United Europe is to respect these differences
and be tolerant of other nations.
The FESTIVAL OF PLAYS
which took place at the last project meeting in Italy from the
4th – 11th May, 2006 is the result of our three years of collaboration.
The plays prepared
and presented by our students are only fairy tales and legends….but
they are very important, because they hide discrimination within
and bring an important message to everyone.

(Polish play)
SPAIN: The Legend of the 'bora' (Italian play)
MALTA: The Legend of Erazem (Slovenian play)
