Alcuni programmi shareware e freeware che ho provato oppure li uso tuttora (tra parentesi è segnata l'ultima versione osservata) e sono raggiungibili mediante la rete Internet. Li ho divisi in seguenti gruppi:

Document writing and previewing

(version 3.01) is a viewer for PDF files (Portable Document Format).
Microsoft Word Viewer (version 97) is a previewer for documents written with Microsoft Word.
PostScript^TM :
- Aladdin Ghostscript (versione 5.50) è un sistema per scrivere testi nel formato PostScript^TM.
- GSview (version 2.7) is a viewer for PS and EPS files.
- Any problems? GSview Help for the viewer is also available on line. Thomas Merz wrote the Ghostscript manual (in PDF format).
Programmer’s File Editor (version 1.01) is a simple and big text editor for the Windows^TM environment.
T_EX :
- emTeX (version 3.14159[4b]) è una famiglia di programmi per scrivere testi nei formati TeX e LaTeX. It offers almost unlimited possibilities in writing articles with mathematical formulas, plotting graphs, including images, ... It is DOS-based.
- MiKTeX (version 1.11) is a package for the Windows^TM environment.
- MusiXTeX (version T.67) is an optional set for writing poliphonic music, compatible with the older MusicTeX (version 5.17).
- Jump to the slovene TeX users group: TeXCeH
- You can use some on-line help systems for: BibTeX, LaTeX, LaTeX, LaTeX, LaTeX 2e, MakeIndex, Plain TeX, SliTeX.

(version 3.2.5) is pretty strong text editor with dictionaries in different languages.

Graphics design

EyeDropper (version 1.1) is a very useful small program for finding out RGB or hexadecimal values of colours on the screen.
(version 1.0Q) is a utility for designing animated GIF files. All animated icons that can be found on my pages are made with it.
(version 5.01) is a raster format image editing program or more commonly known as bitmap editor. It supports many different image formats and I use it to prepare the images you can find in my web pages.

Internet

(version 1.3) is W3C's own test-bed browser/authoring tool and is used to demonstrate and test many of the new developments in Web protocols and data formats.
HTML Notepad (version 2.2) is a simple and small text-based HTML editor.
(version 2.8.1) is a text browser for the World Wide Web. It is very good to write web pages also for text browsers like Lynx.
(version 4.01 SP1) is Microsoft's web browser.
Navigator^TM (version 4.08) is in my opinion the best web browser you can find. All my pages are best read with it. You can use plug-ins to view new files directly in your browser:
- Adobe Acrobat Reader (for PDF documents)
- Techexplorer Hypermedia Browser (for TCX and TEX documents)
- TIFF Surfer (for CAL, CALS, TIF and TIFF images)
- Word Viewer (for DOC Microsoft Word documents)
(version 1.02) is a browser accelerator that greatly reduces the frustration as well as the time spent waiting for Web pages to load.
(version 3.51) is a new web browser, very small, extremely fast on slow, as well as fast machines.

Natural sciences

Astronomy

Moon Phase (version 2.2) is a small program which displays the current phase of the moon on the tray notification area of the system taskbar.
Swatch Internet Time (version 1.02) is a new definition of the global time measuring. It divides a day into 1000 beats.

Mathematics

Logic is a computer program for developing logical problems. On author's page you can find all instructions you need.
MathReader (version 3.0) is a viewer for notebook documents created with Mathematica, the world's only fully integrated technical computing system. MathReader lets you display and print Mathematica notebooks, animate graphics, play sounds, and copy information from notebooks to other documents. MathReader can be used by most web browsers as a helper application for viewing notebook documents.

File managing

ARJ (versione 2.60) è un programma veloce per l'archiviazione dei files.
VirusScan (version 3.14) provides complete desktop protection with an array of scanning features that keep your system clean, mean and virus-free.
(version 2.60) is a very good utility for creating file archives.
Windows Commander (version 3.53) is a File Manager replacement and is a real Superman among file utilities. It is very similar to the Norton Commander for DOS, but this time completely for the Windows^TM graphic environment.
(version 7.0 SR 1) brings the convenience of Windows to the use of ZIP files and other archive and compression formats. The optional wizard interface makes unzipping easier than ever.

Games

Also some games found their home on this pages. Here you can find some logical games where you must think and not just shoot and kill everything around you...

Boulder Dash:
- Mr. Matt (version 2.31) is a simple yet addictive game: you are Mr. Matt, digging through a cave, eating apples (carrots, hamburgers, pumpkins), and avoiding falling stones. No shooting, no killing - just thinking ahead and hours of endless frustration ... Some of the levels are simple enough for a six-year old to complete, some others require quite a lot of planning. Simple does not mean trivial. If you like Boulder Dash, this is the game for you!
- Supaplex (Speed Fix version 6.2) is a game for the DOS environment that requires at least a 80286 processor and a VGA monitor. Apart from this, you will need a brain in good shape to solve the puzzles in the game. The game concept in Supaplex is quite similar to the ancient BoulderDash game.
Card games:
- (version 1.000) is not just 'another card game'. It's a game that combines uncluttered interface and flexibility. You play against three computer opponents.
- Infinite Patience (version 2.2) is a set of 45 solitaire card games for Windows^TM.
Clickomania (vesion 3) is a cool game for young and old. Your goal is to remove as many stones as possible by clicking on groupes of stones with the same color. It offers several options to make the game easier for the young ones and harder for experienced players.
MVP Checkers (version 1.0) is a program for playing checkers with the computer or via network.
Othello (version 1.1) is a simple program for playing Reversi for one or two players.
Quinta (version 1.00) is an interesting brain game five-in-a-row, similar to the old Chinese game Go.
Rayman takes you on an arduous adventure through a complex realm of psychedelic landscapes, absurd characters, formidable opponents, and uncharted levels of dementia. You will experience a heightened sense of visual awareness. You will hear strange and beautiful sounds. Endless legions of bizarre creatures will be out to get you. Solone (version 2.00) is an attractive desktop mastermind game. The large wooden game board has a number of colored marbles resting in carved slots. There are a few empty slots available, allowing you to make horizontal and vertical jumps of adjacent marbles. Each jump captures a marble, and you win the game by clearing the most marbles to date. Solone is a simple spin on a timeless diversion. You can begin a round with either 33 (normal level) or 44 marbles (difficult level).
