I'm
happy to report about our successful preparatory visit In Rome from
December 11th to 15th. There were 11 members from 7 partners' schools
attending the event. We are grateful to our partner school 1° Circolo
Didattico Pietro Maffi, Via Pietro Maffi 45, Rome
– Italy that hosted us and made possible our meeting to be fruitful.
Let's briefly present when and what we did and discussed there.
On
WEDNESDAY December 11th all the participants arrived. In the
evening Patrizia invited us to her home and offered us delicious
dinner. Thanks Patrizia and your family.
On
THURSDAY December 12th, 9
o’clock,
we all gathered at 1° Circolo Didattico Pietro Maffi and were shown
around the school. We talked to teachers and students and followed
their lessons. It was interesting to experience a special successful
technique for reading in the first grade.
Afterwards we were introduced to the Head Teacher and had a relaxed
chat with her. Each partner school presented their school and country.
After tasteful lunch in the school canteen a group of students prepared
some program for us.

In
the afternoon there was a meeting with parents and teachers. There the
hosting school presented their Comenius experiences and we presented
our schools and the planned project. Italian colleagues showed some of
their children's artworks and a short video of a brainstorming done
with the kids about the two Artworks. Alessandra Talamo, the
representative of ECOLE and Rome
University
was also there. She spoke about the meaning of collaborative learning
and ECOLE, as our Comenius project was born within this network.
In the late afternoon we all went to the centre of Rome to enjoy the
city.
The evening was devoted to preparation of the project plan.
On
FRIDAY, December 13th we met again at school and worked on the
Project form all morning. We presented our three year-plan and we
discussed the possibilities and actions in future. The meeting was
very active and exhaustive with constructive comments and proposals
from all schools involved. We ended it late in the afternoon.
On
SATURDAY, December 14th, we worked on the form at the hotel and
filled all the necessary data.
In the afternoon we had free time to do some sightseeing and shopping.
In the evening Patrizia organised a farewell dinner at a nice
restaurant. There we somehow concluded our work in a relaxed
atmosphere.
On
SUNDAY, December 15th, was a departure day and first partners had
to leave early in the morning (Bitte from Sweden).
I believe that I can say on behalf of all involved that our
preparatory meeting was a success and we now all exactly know what it
is expected to be done in our project in future.
