Preparation: Make bingo cards – clothes (words, pictures). Collect songs
concerning weather, clothes, days of the week. Make posters for seasons
In Class:
1. Before reading introduce an easy chant about clothes:
Everybody put on your HAT
put on your HAT
put on your HAT
Everybody put on your HAT
just like me!
(mime the actions, students do it with you)
Change the pieces of clothing and go on with the song. Later pupils join in.
2.Than play Bingo – Clothes with pictures, later with words for clothes on it.
3. Students match pictures with words. (option - computer interactive exercise made
with Hot Potatoes software.)

4. Play a guessing game: What is it? Is it a …. Think about one piece of
clothing and students guess what it is.
5. Sing days of the week (the tune of Are you sleeping, brother John…)

6. Introduce the weather vocabulary by miming and showing the pictures. Memorise
the new vocabulary with different games.
7. Introduce seasons and pupils in groups of four try to draw different weather
on the weather posters and later report to the others.
8. I like / don’t like weather, seasons – class survey.
9. Story Time – Children sit in a circle around you. Read the story – show
the illustrations which go with the story. Mime all – use body language. After reading
the two days of the week stop and let students try to predict clothes and weather for the
next days. Ask them about colours.
10. After reading: A team game: Give each student a different word from the
story on a piece of paper. Read again and when they hear a word that is on their card they
stand up.
11. Project work: Students make their own book about the character they choose.
Teacher helps them with the sentences.
