How to became a hunter

First the application form should be applied to the selected Hunting organization. Of course you must fulfil certain conditions prescribed by the low. In the first year as a trainee you learn about hunting yards and hunting rules. Lectures begin in wintertime and finish in May. To finish the course successfully 10 exams should be passed together with the final practical avocation from your hunting organisation committee and then you become an independent hunter. Then you can move across the hunting yards without the presence of a senior hunter as it was during your trainee period. At the same time a membership fee should be paid; at the beginning also a hunting charges should be paid, fortunately only once. Charges are different in different regional organisations and vary from one to another Hunting Organisation.

Hunter obligations

Each hunter should take care about maintaining his "solnic" stands with salt for wild animals. During winter time they should be empty while in early spring are filled to full. Thus he starts to feed the animals in certain feeding zones. Hunters try to shoot away physically weakened animals; hence they keep for bigger trophies. They also keep to avoid wild hunting. Every hunter also has to participate some free working hours to his Hunting Organization.

 The hunting ethics is usually simply expressed as a hunting entitlement or hunting morality or hunting consciousness. Hunting entitlement best represents its noble relation to the nature and animals. Hunting ethics requires from a hunter a decent and fair hunting. Nowadays hunting becomes more a kind of entertainment rather than hunting for meat as it used to be in the past. Any torture of animals is considered unethical. Any wounded animal should be killed with a "merciful" shoot and not with the knife or even with hands. Animals are afraid of physically stronger hunter; suffer from the fierce against him, he is not frightened with death cause it is not aware of it. Also shooting to animals on feeding zones or in "stiska" is not ethically, cause it should be given any kind of help. Hunting ethics not distinct between protected and unprotected animals. For example it is not ethically shooting for a fox in the winter although it is not protected because it grows its "mladiče" in that time. Hunting ethics also require from hunter to manage respectively with killed animal, to properly "raztelesiti" it, to good clean a trophy and to keep a trophy on a suitable place.

Young Hunter Opinion

Because I am too young to wear a weapon I am also not in a position to became an independent hunter. Otherwise I very likely accompany my father at hunting, to look into hunting handbook to read any interesting about hunting. I help my father to evaluate the wild animals, .... . But I am still wating for the time I should became an independent hunter and hopefully a top ethically one.

Najprej je potrebno vložiti prošnjo za sprejetje v LD, ki ste si jo izbrali, seveda če v preteklosti niste imeli večjih težav s katerokoli stvarjo, ki bi vam lahko preprečevala izpolnjevanje pogojev za sprejetje v LD. Potem imate 1 leto pripravništva in v tem obdobju se naučite spoznavati lovišče ter pravila lova. V zimskem času se začno predavanja, ki se končajo maja. Izpitov je 10 ter še praktični del pred komisijo vaše LD. Potem, ko ste uspešno opravili izpite ste samostojni lovec. Sedaj lahko hodite po lovišču brez mentorjevega spremstva kot je bilo potrebno v obdobju pripravništva. Kar je treba plačati, pa je le članarina na začetku pa je še pristopnina, ki jo plačate le enkrat. Cene so v različnih LD različno visoke.

Naloge lovca

Naloge lovca so, da skrbi za zalaganje svojih solnic, ki naj bodo pozimi prazne, spomladi pa naj jih čimprej napolnijo, da skrbi za redno krmljenje na krmiščih. Gledajo, da odstreljujejo fizično slabše živali in s tem skrbijo tudi za večje trofeje. Skrbi za preprečevanje divjega lova. Vsak lovec pa mora tudi opraviti nekaj delovnih ur, v obdobju pripravništva, pa je teh ur več.

Lovska etika

Za pojem lovska etika navadno uporabljamo izraz lovska pravičnost, lovska morala, lovska vest. Lovska pravičnost je plemenit odnos do narave in njenih živih bitjih. Lovska etika zahteva od lovca, da lovi dostojno, primerno in pošteno. Danes je lov v prvi vrsti razvedrilo in uživanje v naravi, ne pa lov na meso, kot je bilo včasih. Sleherno mučenje živali je nelovsko, torej ni lovsko etično. Lovsko etično je da zastreljeno divjad usmrtimo z milostnim strelom, ne pa, da jo usmrtimo z nožem ali krepelcem ali celo, da jo zadavimo z rokami. Žival se namreč bolj boji močnejšega nasprotnika, trpi od strahu pred njim, smrti se ne boji, ker se je ne zaveda. Tudi to, da žival streljamo na krmišču, pri solnici ali v stiski ni etično, ampak je treba živali pomagati. Lovska etika ne pozna razlik med zaščiteno in nezaščiteno divjadjo. Lovsko etično ni tudi upleniti lisico pozimi, ko so njeni mladiči nebogljeni, čeprav lisica v tistem obdobju ni zaščitena. Lovska etika zahteva tudi, da z uplenjeno divjadjo ravnamo spoštljivo, jo pravilno raztelesimo, trofeje dobro očistimo in jih hranimo na primernem mestu.
