SHORT BIO:

MARKO KOŠAN, born 1961 in Ljubljana. Study of history of art at Ljubljana University, graduated in 1986 with thesis on medieval art. Until 1997 curator at Regional Museum Ptuj and Fine Art Gallery Slovenj Gradec, from 1999 director of Carinthian Regional Museum Slovenj Gradec, in April 2008 appointed as director of Fine Art Gallery Slovenj Gradec.
Since 1990 collaborated as curator with many galleries and museum in Slovenia and abroad (especially Austria and Croatia). From 1995 member of the Slovene Association of Art Critics and AICA.
Publicist, art-critic, essayist, columnist, writes reviews for many Slovenian and international newspapers and art magazines. Participated in international symposia (Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia). President of Hugo Wolf Society Slovenj Gradec and Unesco Club Slovenj Gradec. Nominated expert for EU program Culture, member of national juries for contemporary visual arts and cultural heritage. Author of monograph studies on medieval and contemporary art in Carinthia and Slovenia. Currently postgraduate studies on topics related to medieval art.
