Title of work: "THE PIPE DREAM"

Everybody’s a dreamer and everybody’s a star,
And everybody’s in movies, it doesn’t matter who you are.
There are stars in every city,
In every house and on every street,
And if you walk down Hollywood boulevard
Their names are written in concrete!

The Kinks / Celluloid Heroes

»A pipe dream is a fantastic hope or plan that is generally regarded as being nearly impossible to achieve. It is implied that the smoker of the pipe is smoking a substance that alters their perceptions to make something fantastical seem achievable.«

In the project The Pipe Dream, I will create a platform where illusions, dreams and reality clash into each other, and therefore create a new form – situation. I believe that everything that surrounds us is mouldable, as we are.

SHORT BIO:

Jaša was born on 22.08.1978 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Graduates at the Fine Art Academy “Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia” in Venice, Italy 2004, in 2007 finishes two years studies of postraduate program in painting an multimedia. Works an lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He presented his works at several solo (The Big Show, 2005, Kazermate Ljubljana castle; Let’s Put an End to all the Sisaster, 2006, Ganes Pratt Gallery, Ljubljana; One Hit Wonder, 2007, KiBela, Maribor,; etc.) and group exhibitions. In 2007 his work was nominated for the OHO award. He caracterize his work as follows: “The essential feature of my work is the interaction between mouldable artistic matter and real environment. Only through their synergy, intimate and public space can one develop a figurative language, which communicates with the audience.”
