THE EUROPEAN UNION
WORKSHOP
Both the European workshop and the Euro-guide workshop searched
the internet for information about Slovenia's entry into the
EU. Using the internet as well as the magazine 'Evropopotnica'
they learned about the main languages of communication in
Europe, European travel, social policies, names of important
European ports, famous European scientists, sports, health,
education and culture. They made a poster and symbolic candle
holders.
A SURVEY – (Anketa)
Two young reporters, Ana Tomšič and Ana Hrvatin from class
7.b interviewed some people from the local community to find
out their views about Slovenia's entry into the EU. This is
what the people had to say:
Vanja, a shop assistant, 39
I have no comment. I'm impartial.
Ema, agronomy engineer, 43
I support Slovenia's entry into the EU. I expect a lot of
changes and I hope for the better.
Helena, florist, 37
In my opinion everything regarding Slovenia's entry into the
EU has already been arranged.
Zvonka, retired, 69
The expectations are high. I think the road to Europe is the
right road.
Sonja, shop assistant, 43
I'm for it. There will be a greater opportunity for employment
and the lesgislation will be more efficient.
Peter, shop assistant, 25
I don't have too many expectations. The saying 'less work,
more money' won't come true.
Jadranka, secondary school, 48
I have to comment. These things don't interest me.
Željko, steel worker, 29
I'm for the EU, but absolutely against Nato.
Marta, worker, 46
Be what it may, as long as it's better than it is today.
Blaznik, retired, 75
I'm not a politician. I don't expect anything by joining the
EU.
Marija, retired, 72
I have no expectations.
