THANK
YOU FROM OUR FRIENDS IN
GHANA,
AFRICA
Dear friends,
We were happy to receive
your package dated 10th July,2006.The
package was received on my behalf by Mustapha
.He then sent them to me through the bus
that runs from the Tamale, the capital
town of northern Ghana to Larabanga.
We were happy to receive them at Larabanga.I
then sent it to the school where I distributed
the content (pencils,books,file,papers
and rag dolls) to the students.
The rag dolls were given to the day care
pupils and the others to the primary school
students, thus primary one to primary
six. Some were also reserved for students
who excel in the just ended exams.thus
from first to third in each class.
So we will say that your
package was a timely one and we hope this
cordial relation will continue to exist
between us. I must say that the pupils
were very happy even though some of them
did not get because their number was outrageous.
We made pictures of the
pupil and will send them to you soon.
I still want to develop and print them.
Some of the pupils also drew for you.
I will send them too.
Looking at the day care
alone, they are up to 150 pupils sitting
under a trees without shelter with some
still willing to be in school because
the government has now introduce a capitation
grants that seek to see to the enrolment
drive of the schools.I think this should
be accompanied by expansion of schools
which is not the case.
Primary one =103 pupils
Primary two= 87 pupils
Primary three=96 pupils
Primary three=85 pupils
Primary four=67 pupils
Primary five=97 pupils
Primary six= 98 pupils
Junior secondary school one(J.S.S. 1)=43
J.S.S. 2 = 33
No J.S.S. 3 because they wrote the basic
education certificate examination and
they are waiting for their result. So,
primary six students will come to the
J.S.S. 1 next year and there will be shifts.
You can see how populated the school is...I
teach social studies at the J.S.S.1 ,2
and three. So I like reading. I also like
listening to music. I like the color yellow.
Yes, I have heard of
Mr. Shamo but I have never met him personally.
Sometimes I only return from school and
hear he came to Larabanga and left because
I attended my last school at Tamale.I
know he must be kind.
I hope to hear from you
soon. Our regards to the staff and pupil
of OSNOVNA SOLA.We wish to hear from you
again.
