To conclude the three-year Comenius project
'Bridges', the coordinators, headmasters, teachers and pupils from the
partner schools met for one last time at the schools in Lithuania and
Estonia. What made this project meeting different from the othes was
that it also included pupils from the participating schools. The two
pupils from our school, Polona Smrdelj and Eva Ule were chosen on the
basis of their active participation in the project throughout the three-year
period. They both showed great skill as translators and both have penfriends
in these countries. The visit lasted from 2nd to 9th May, 2002. The
main events included a welcoming ceremony, presentations of the visiting
countries by the visiting teachers and pupils, conferences for project
evaluation and reports. By visiting the schools in Druskininkai and
Kavandu we can now compare the school system in all of the participating
schools.
The pupils had the opportunity to meet each other, exchange ideas about
the activities undertaken and suggest ways of pursuing the link that
has been made among the schools for the future. They came to the conclusion
that the main link is friendship. After three years of working together
in the same project, they finally met their Comenius friends face to
face.
