Physical Education (P.E.)
|
With
systematically organised P.E. at our school we are striving for a proper bio-psycho-social
development of young people. We are teaching our students to get accustomed to a healthy
life-style, good choice of free time activities; we want them to take interest in sports
activities, to practice sport also in their maturity.
The programme of P.E. is carried out in all classes. They
have P.E. three times (students from 1st to 6th class) or twice
(students in 7th and 8th class) a week. During the lessons they
adopt and improve their basic knowledge in athletics, gymnastics, rhythmic, dancing and
games.
In the
school year 1993/94 the "sports class" project was introduced with the students in the
5th class. Students were gathered in classes A as there were three to four
parallel classes of each class (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d).
The project
was brought to an end in the school year 1999/2000.
Positive
experience gained through the project is now practised in all classes (sports
presentations, POLAk survey, summer and winter school in nature) .
Basic
swimming knowledge in crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle and some other activities
in water are introduced to students in 4th class during their summer school
in nature.
In 5th
class they adopt alpine skiing technique.
In 6th
class school outing, march and mountaineering is practised.
In 7th
class speleology and how to survive in nature is taught.
In 8th
class they improve alpine skiing technique.
Our students
are very good at sports. They have already won a lot of medals and awards in different
competitions, matches and meetings.
