| The purpose of the research | |
The mentioned project wanted to resolve the questions about future optimal use of space for different recreation activities (especially walking, running and cycling) and at the same time to assure special parts of natural environment its undisturbed development.  Our team decided to prepare a special questionnaire to gather as much information as possible in a short time. With the help of it we wanted to know how people use their environment for recreation. |
We limited our research to only Solkan and Nova Gorica surrounding, so we questioned just parents of students, who live in Nova Gorica and Solkan, even if our school environment includes also quite a big part of Trnovo and Banška plateau. We put the information from 180 filled questionnaires into a special chart which shows how our urban and rural forests are used for recreation. For describing direction of the paths we used names from the topographic map of Nova Gorica (1 : 25000) from the year 1997. At the weekends we cycled or walked through all the unknown roads to get acquainted with their present conditions. Because we are all very keen cyclist, we also expressed our wish. We would be very happy, if in future the environmental service of Nova Gorica municipality issued the licence for using some appointed ways for mountain cycling. |
