I like paddling very much. Yet, my mother and father told me
that as a little child I was very much afraid of kayaking. When I saw my father in a
kayak, I immediately started to cry.
When I was seven, it was my father's influence that made me become enthusiastic about
kayaking. I liked to paddle in calm waters because at that time I was afraid of the
rapids. During summer holidays my parents encouraged me to attend a beginner's course. I
lost my fear of wild waters and I became a member of kayak club called Kayak club Soške
elektrarne in Solkan. I've met lots of new friends there.
My coach is Andrej Grobiša. Once the world champion, his good and useful
advice is of great help at our training. We practise on the Soča river. It's near my home
and I come there by bicycle.
I won my first medal at the Slovenian championship in Tacen two years ago. Good results
followed and I have received over forty medals up to now.
My aim is to become a member of the national team so I practise steadfastly. My parents
say that school comes first, but at the races they are my loudest fans.
