Our day in nature - about forests | |
Here we measured the addition of timber through growth. |
On 12 September grade 8 of Solkan Elementary School had one of the days in nature. We went to Panovec, which lies close to Nova Gorica and is a popular spot for all types of recreation and jogging. We were accompanied by five representatives of the local forest organisation. We walked through the forest where there is so called forest learning path for all the local schools and people who would like to learn more about our forests. We were introduced some interesting facts about the work the forest workers do in the forest. We took photographs so you figure out what we did and learned there. |
Here we measured the |
What is the so called forest learning path in Panovec? Its main aim is to educate visitors how to find information about nature, how to love forests and explain the importance of forests for human beings and industry. There you can learn about most of the trees that grow in that forest and also what kind of work forest workers have to do in the forest. It also instructs us how to preserve forests and love them. |
The
Panovec forest learning path is 1300 metres long, It lies 90 - 140 metres above
the sea level and it is the first path of such type in our region. There you can find
short and simple descriptions of different types of trees at 12 main stops.
We experienced an interesting and educational sunny September day in company with the forest specialists. We returned back to school full of new knowledge and experience about the forest and nature in general. We hope that our photos could depict a little our fruitful day. |
