There are about 900 different kinds of bats and they are divided into two groups: larger and smaller bats. The biggest bat from Java is 170 cm across the wings and its body length is 42 cm. But many bats are much smaller. The smallest bat is only about 3 cm long and weighs about 2 g. It lives in Thailand. And the oldest fossil bat is about 60 million years old.
