The full structure of the lexicographic item in the Slovenian Dictionary of Library Terminology is described, explaining the functions and forms of individual elements such as the heading, grammatical qualifiers, qualifiers denoting subject and value, definitions, semantic relations and the like. Consequently an appropriate data model has been developed to meet those requirements on all stages of the construction of the dictionary, including capturing, processing, desktop publishing and transfer of the lexicographic material to the user application. Individual issues are discussed into detail presenting challenges on the meeting point of traditional and electronic lexicography.
