FEDERICO MARCONI

UDINE

March - April 1996

Architect Federico Marconi is one of the very rare Italian architects who understood the esence of Aalto’s doctrine. He combined Aalto’s concept with Friuli tradition and thus achieved a very personal architectural address. Marconi is trying to find a new human environment which would be defined by dynamics, humanism and richness of the space. His architecture abounds in emotions which is achieved by means of strictly controlled light, designing the smallest detail and northern sensitivity in using materials. With its purity, austerity and timelessness Marconi’s work harmoniously blends with the landscape, thus becoming a part of the Friuli heritage that continues the tradition of built space.
