In April we began to develop a 2D shape optimization module. This module will provide functions for parametrisation of domains in two dimensions. Various functions for transformation of coordinates from reference to initial domain will be provided as well as functions for transformation of finite element meshes. These functions will also provide derivatives of the transformed coordinates with respect to optimization parameters.

The module will be available in the first commercial version which will probably come out in summer 2000. It will face many updates in the following year when also the 3D module will be developed. The responsible developer is Damjan Jelovsek.
