Tombstones in St Andrews Cathedral

Tombstone of Thomas Scott and his wife Isabella Carstairs, daughter of William Carstairs and Margaret Logan. The general location of this tombstone can be seen from the picture below. It is the recumbent stone.

Tombstone of James Carstairs, mariner, and his wife Hallen Carstairs.

"Erected by John Carstairs in memory of John Carstairs, his father, who died 18th Jany 1859 aged 84 years. Also Euphemia Potter, his mother, who died 7th Octr 1870 aged 94 years and John his son, who died at Thayetmyo, British Burmah, East Indies, 27th Decr 1875 aged 42 years. Also James, his third son, who died 2nd Sept 1884 aged 46 years, and of Christian Terris, wife of the above John Carstairs, who died 4th August 1886 aged 80 years. Also the said John Carstairs, Builder, St Andrews, who died 21st May 1887 aged 83 years. Also Robert Terris Carstairs, son of above John Carstairs, who died 20th January 1923 aged 83 years."

"Erected by Andrew Carstairs in loving memory of his wife Isabella Blyth, who died 20th April 1907 aged 71 years. A loving mother and a faithful wife. Also the above Andrew Carstairs, died 8th Nov 1916, aged 80 years."

"In loving memory of David Carstairs, youngest son of Andrew and Isabella Carstairs born 15th October 1881 died 18th May 1950, and of Elsie Marion Ross, his beloved wife, born 21st November 1883, died 20th August 1956, and of Alfred Forrest, A.R.C.A., born 12th December 1909, died 16th October 1995, dear husband of their daughter, Catherine Isabella."

"Erected by William Carstairs, in memory of Sophia Louden, his wife, who died 3rd June 1908 aged 55 years. The above William Carstairs died 12th October 1924 aged 78 (6?) years."
