Likovno
delo kot koncept
Čeprav je v naslov razstave vključena beseda koncept, postavitev
kot takšna nima poudarjene enotne sheme. Osnovni namen razstave
in
opredeljeno smer v kateri delujejo. Iz njihove kakovosti,
zanimivosti, pa tudi neposrednosti izhaja koncept. In čeprav
Eden izmed momentov
je njihova socialna govorica. Avtorji na svoje načine prepoznavajo
posebnosti tega časa. Ga definirajo skladno s svojimi nazori
in likovnimi izkušnjami. Njihovo vračanje v preteklost nam
govori
Poleg nekaterih intelektualcev, pisateljev

Visual artwork as a concept
Though the word concept is included in the name of the exhibition,
the set up as such does not have a particularly emphasised
or unified scheme. The main aim of the exhibition is primarily
to present the collaboration of artists, who, in the area
of visual art, have succeed to create a personal and recognizable
signature in their works. So, our goal is not to find a
unifying
component, which might tie together the exhibition, or
even a particular style, but just to set up an extensive
exhibit,
thereby filling the gallery. The originality of each individual
work is, in essence, that element, for which we searched,
and with which we created the set up. It especially interested
us, how this element could be included in relation to the
other already present works, which already, and quite on
their own, define personal individuality. We came upon
the concept, which is present in the exhibition, mainly
after
a meeting of the artists, all of which have a precisely
defined direction in their work. It is from the quality,
interest, and also directness of their work, that the concept
originates. Though we also take into account coincidences,
which become visible when their works come into direct contact
with one another, it is their personally defined visual
stance that reinforces the differences between them.
The exhibition
can be understood in many different ways. One of the
aspects is the social language of the individual works. In
their own way, the artists are familiar with the peculiarities
of the time in which we live. They define it in conjunction
with their own outlooks on visual art experience. Their return
to the past speaks of a historical memory, which, as we know,
is not specific of our time. Today, apart from a few intelectuals,
writers, and authors in different areas, visual artists in
particular enjoy the possibility of expressing their outlooks,
even if they are in diametrical opposition to the opinions
of
a majority, which allows itself to be informed of its
own opinion by means of the public media. Of course,
this does not mean that the exhibition is political, as the
gallery
does not have the facilities for something of that nature,
and is not a place for public discussion, but a place of
contemplation. The diversity of the times in which we are
living is something we have tried to draw attention to with
different techniques, something that is characteristic for
newer approaches in the visual arts, often encountered
in this time period.
