Antipodes Islands

The antipode of a given location is, by definition, located precisely on the other side of the globe, at the other end of a straight line that passes directly through the center of the earth.The Antipodes Islands (latitude 49°41' S, longitude 178°43' E) are an isolated group of small islands in the South Pacific Ocean. The Antipodes were discovered in 1800 by Captain Waterhouse of the British ship Reliance.
