A richly gifted guitarist, Tomaz Rajteric is renowned for performing works from different style periods, e.g. renaissance transcription masterpieces, J. S. Bach, popular Spanish and Latin-American composers and the repertoires of contemporary composers, with equal passion. 

Tomaz Rajteric was born 1 November 1967 in Ljubljana, where he lives and works. He started learning the guitar when he was ten and later, at the age of thirteen, became a pupil of the known guitar pedagogue Ljudmil Rus at the 'Franc Sturm' Music School in Ljubljana. 

Already as a teenager, Tomaz showed talent for music, and the guitar, particularly. He received many international honours and awards from all over the world - Ljubljana, Sablé, Belgrade, Rio de Janeiro, etc. 

These awards highly influenced his career and enabled him to play on several concert stages and to continue his studies at the most prominent places. He finished his undergraduate and postgraduate guitar studies on Geneva Music Conservatory in 1988 in the class of Maria Livia Sao Marcos. He continued at the Lausanne Conservatory with Dagoberto Linhares, at the 'Mozarteum' in Salzburg with Eliot Fisk and took several courses with Julian Bream. 

He has appeared on stage with his solo recitals and in numerous chamber ensembles all around Slovenia, in several European countries, in South America, in China, in Nepal and in the USA. He has also played with the Zagreb soloists, the Chamber Orchestra from Lausanne, the Slovenian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra and the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. 

He has performed several works by Slovene composers for the first time, amongst others Concerto for guitar and orchestra by Bozidar Kos, a Slovene living in Australia. Tomaz Rajteric regulary records for the radio and television, most of all for the music archive of the Slovenian Radio. 

At the beginning, he worked as a free-lance musician. Besides that, he was teaching the guitar on different levels. 

He has been holding the position of a senior lecturer for the guitar at the University of Ljubljana at the Academy of Music since 1997 and has been engaged as a guitar teacher at the above mentioned Academy of Music since 2000.
