Privat(e)
Experimental mini CD Privat(e) contains six songs played mostly
with acoustic instruments and singing vocals. It was based as a
soundtrack for the exhibition so many songs are based as an illustration
for paintings and they work as an ambiental background for visual
works. Various flutes are the main instruments in most of the songs,
but we can sense some organs and soprano sax in jazzy first
song "Little Things" and interesting accapella
version of Eye in The Sky, cover from Alan Parson Project. Mini
album is recorded at home and its nature is more experimental
and sometimes music is not on time and is even out of tune,
but the author recorded everything by himself alone, so we can say
he has some creative potential left for the future projects. Somebody
Somewhere
About project and exhibition:
Interactive, intemedia installation combines images of visual material
that author made after video and photo
shots
of his private world. Privat(e) is a audio-visual project,
that deals with social views of generation (that author likes to
name it ZX-gen after the art
group)
and its escapist journeys into game world and computers. As author
states "Escapism is better then cinism", he deals
with escapism as creative escape from reality, but on the other
hand he's intrested in that second reality that's already part of
the "real one". Even in his previous works author deals
with a theme of private issues that are pushed infront of the public's
eyes. Like in the project Sound
Paintings,
Sunday at Bezigrad,
Vogue
and Great
Expectation
he stays in the role of voayer with a very subjective, sometimes
straight and even nostalgic perspective.
The
main part of exhibition are paintings
and photos combined with sensors and sound moduls with short sound
recordings. The visitors activates intimate sound recordings as
walking through gallery space. The second part are audio-visual
installations that combined subjective
video shorts
with added private text and also a ready-made
video game.
That installation presents an example of radical - subjective view
on private microcosmos as a part of everyday life of author and
his generation born in 1970's. Music
CD
with original score for the exhibition is also recorded for the
occasion.
