VIDEO WISH GRANTED
On November 2, Niowt's new video premiered at Slovene national TV. Wish is the third video from the still current Loverboy CD. As for its content, the video is multi-layered, following the vision Argentinean architect Ana Rascovsky had when listening to the song for the first time. Yet again the members of the band do not appear in the video, what does appear, however, are tiny wax figures, each with a special role and function in the story. The video will soon be available on-line in the video section of this page.

PLAY IT AGAIN, CALIGULA
The reason for band's absence from the public eye in the recent months is a very concrete one. Invited by acknowledged Slovene director Matjaž Pograjc, the band has been intensively working on the soundtrack for his coming performance Play It Again, Caligula (a reworking of French philosopher Alfred Camus' drama Caligula) since the beginning of 2003. Toiling on the project around the clock, Niowt have decided to cancel all other activities for the time being. The performance will premiere on Wednesday, April 2 2003 at the Slovensko mladinsko gledališče (SMG) theatre. As for the soundtrack, fans might recognize some of the pieces from the Loverboy album (remixes of Hold, Venus, White Tide, Wish) but there is also quite some new material primarily intended for the third record and slightly altered to suit the theatre medium.

NIOWT IN BELGRADE
As announced,
Niowt are heading to Belgrade in mid-September to give a solo concert at the popular KST club. Due to promotional activities, the band will be staying in Belgrade for a few days while the concert is taking place on September 14th. The Belgrade gig is the first concert after a month of rest and the band are really looking forward to it since the news about the response to their music in Serbia is more then encouraging. The Loverboy video as well as both records triggered an incredible amount of interest also in other ex-Yugoslav countries, which means that concerts there are to be expected in the next few months.

VIDEO WISH
In August the band started with preparations for the third video, which should be finished and launched in public at the beginning of autumn. The band decided to visually upgrade a slower song so they chose the second piece from the album, Wish. What to expect? Another conceptual and content-wise multi-layered complication, of course ;), following the tradition started with Loverboy. This time, the band have hooked up with Argentinean video artist and architect Ana Rascovsky.

Dates will be announced as soon as the gigs are fixed.

ENTER JAZZMAN
After a short break the band took after the departure of bassplayer Bojan Brajkovic at the beginning of December, Niowt will be continuing with live gigs in February 2002 with a new member Tibor Mihelic, 24, an outstanding bassplayer who decided to forsake his jazz origins 'to try out something more brutal.' The band were quite happy to oblige.

The launch of Niowt's new video Loverboy is scheduled for January 12 2002, the premiere taking place in the Saturday Night music show on Slovene national television. ADDITIONAL KEYBOARDER JOINS THE BAND
In October Peter Senk left Ljubljana to pursue his postgraduate studies in Rotterdam. For the period of Peter's stay in Holland, the keyboards will be tackled solely by Niowt's new acquisition, an excellent young keyboarder Luka Jamnik, who joined the band in August. Peter, of course, remains an integral part of the band, collaborating on all the bands projects.

PROWLING MANSON
After months of speculations it's now official: NIOWT have been scheduled to play at the biggest festival in Slovenia alongside bands such as MARILYN MANSON, CULT and PAPA ROACH, taking place August 29 2001 at Ljubljana's hippodrome. - FESTIVAL CANCELED - POP ARTS FESTIVAL 2001 (www.stage3000.com)

NEW DRUMMER / At the beginning of February Niowt's drummer Bostjan Vajs decided to continue his career in more commercial musical waters and left the band. After an extensive two week search, Niowt's producer Pete Penko found an excellent replacement, a very talented drummer Luka Salehar, who immediately convinced the band with his skill and attitude. Luka mastered the songs on the play list already, so the band will start with promotional gigs as planned.
