The experimental work in high school physics is basic principle of education. Established tasks sometimes aren't challening enough for young researchers.
For current industry and laboratory research, wind tunnel is an important form of testing and measurement. This form of testing is essential in the automotive and aerospace industries.
In the school year 2013/14, we decided, along with students, to prepare a wind tunnel, which will serve as experimental work in physics education.

Operation of the wind tunnel
We will try to
answer the following questions and complete following tasks:
- Determine the optimal measure of laboratory wind tunnel.
- Select materials for construction.
- Dimensioning drive air flow.
- Decide how to ensure a steady continual distribution of air flow through the section
of the wind tunnel.
- Identify the method of measuring air velocity in the device.
- Try out some of the old methods measuring, which are based on a change in
pressure.
- Establish measurement with digital anemomometrom (Vernier).
- Establish a mechanism for transmitting the measurement for forces in two
coordinates.
- The measurement forces in x-y with digital sensors.
- Computer data processing (Logger Pro).
- Find the technology to see the wind lines.
- Design and construct in the program SkenchUp.

Students are invited to attend the design and
manufacture measur - the experimental device. The work will take place in the
physics lab (109). Please get in touch without commitments. Students who would like to prepare a research paper and present it
at a Meeting of young researchers of Slovenia, can sign up for this additional
activity. All those interested can get more information from of
