Air honeycomb

We produce air flow with the fan propulsion, flowing through the measuring chamber. The model should be assayed exposed to the laminar fluid. In order to avoid air flowed through the chamber in vortices and chaotic, it must be directed to the router. Since this is a larger cross-section S = 400 cm2, the standard routing with spoilers is ineffective.  In industry and major of wind tunnel to ensure this condition with aluminum honeycomb, which is very expensive. Our concept of a planar air router is based on a simple honeycomb with plastic straws.

4000 straws gave us Mr. Matthew Erzar from the company Pepiplast (Sempeter in Gorizia).

Denis and Nik developed the first router with honeycomb on the Information Day (14 February 2014). They cut straw into the same length and glued together into the honeycomb with model.
