Preface
 

It has been years since we have been trying to present our beautiful country to the world. As our great poet Župančič said in his poem Duma  " ....I wondered through land of ours and drink its beauties...."

This generation of our students started the presentation, planning on a large scale. However, there is a lot of work that will be completed quite too soon. There will be much left for the following generations.

Who do we introduce Bela krajina to? In the first place to ourselves in order to be aware of its beauties and become proud of it. Then to the tourists who wish to get to know charming yet undiscovered corners of Slovenia. Futhermore, to all the Slovenes who moved to Australia and America and frequently inquire whether their family names still exist in the area. They wondered why are no English publications about Bela krajina. They feel the need to learn about their homeland, but unfortunately they do not speak slovene anymore. They also need a place where they could find all sorts of information.

We apologize for all the likely mistakes that may occur. We are sure we can get rid of them with your help.  We welcome all suggestions.
