Baroque churches st. Trojica and st. Štefan


 
Pilgranage church St. Trojica has been on Vinji vrh since1647. This church was built in baroque style. It has two domes and a high steeple. Its particularity is already named domed  nave and presbytery designed like a triangle. Gold altar from the first half of 18th century enriches the interior of the church.

 


 

  St. Štefan's church stands in the centre of Semič and was first time mentined in1228. It was built in the style of baroque classicism. In the church are valuable Venecian glass chandelier, paintings St. Štefan and  Zadnja večerja (Last dinner) by Metzinger, Križev pot (Stations of the Cross) by Potočnik and Jereb's altar. Partly preserved circular wall around the church dates from the times of Turkish raids.
